This past Saturday, the Black River Cross Country team competed at the West Ottawa Bredeweg Invitational with other area schools such as West Ottawa, Zeeland, and Holland. The men’s team finished 5th of 12 teams with 137 points, 9 points behind 4th place finisher Zeeland East. Top finishers for the men’s team were Joseph Britt, finishing 10th with a time of 17:12, and Cameron Jones, finishing just behind Britt in 11th, with a time of 17:14.
The Ladie’s team finished 8th of 10 teams with 213 points. Allison Vroon led the women’s team finishing 3rd overall with a time of 19:10. Vroon threatens to break 19 minutes at some point this season.
