JV Volleyball Sweeps Heritage

Black River JV defeats Kalamazoo Heritage in two sets; 25-20; 25-11. Middle blocker Sierra Hole led the team with 4 kills.  Libero Abbie Palmateer started rat offense with 11 good digs followed by Sydra Timmer and Noa Weller with 6 digs each.Sophie Littlejohn and Ellarie Zylman contributed 4 and 3 aces respectively to a decisive River Rat victory.

Rats need 3 sets to take down Calvary

Black River Junior Varsity wins against Holland Calvary in 3 sets
25-16; 19-25; 17-15

Abbie Palmateer led with 16 digs. Sierra Hole and Hannah Thiele led with 2 kills each. Sydra Timmer and SOphie Littlejohn led in aces with 8 and 6 respectively.

Tryout Information

All high school fall sports athletes and their parents should plan to attend an informational/parent meeting on August 21 at 6:00pm.  Meet the coaching staff, parent/player/coach meetings, purchase sports passes, and get all your athletic questions answered.


Girls Volleyball - Tryouts for all HS volleyball players will be Wednesday, August 13 - Friday, August 15 from 9:00am-11:00am for JV and 9:00-12:00PM for Varsity in the BR gym.  Questions? contact Coach George – ittybitty1061@gmail.com


NO STUDENT CAN PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS OR PRACTICE WITHOUT A SPORTS PHYSICAL ON FILE WITH THE SCHOOL.  THE PHYSICAL MUST HAVE TAKEN PLACE ON OR AFTER APRIL 15, 2014.

JV Defeats Fruitport

The girls JV Volleyball team won vs. Fruitport Calvary on Thursday, October 4, 2012. The girls won the first two sets to finish the game quickly, and played very well as a team. The top servers were Lexi Dalecke and Anna Stubbs, both with two aces. Sydney Del Valle and Jada Schallhorn had the most digs, and Jada Schallhorn had the most kills. Lexi Dalecke had the most set assists. The girls played with trust, they communicated well and played with intensity.
